He was my great great grandfather. He and his brother served on Little Roundtop. He survived the war. He came to Baltimore in 1879 to work - where he died in his sleep. He was buried in Baltimore and then reinterred in Albany Rural Cemetery, Albany, NY. He joined with the Albany Rural School. My great great grandfather was shot and killed on Little Roundtop and is buried in the Soldiers National Cemetery in Gettysburgh, PA.

My great great uncle, Leander Turner Burnham served with the 44th NY INfantry Co E. He and my great great grandfather served on Little Roundtop. Leander was shot in the chest and killed. He was first buried on Jacob Weikert farm and then reinterred in the Soldier's National Cemetery after it opened it November, 1863. They were from Albany, NY and joined with the Albany Rural School.
